PlanningJoy
Estimates the whole team actually believes.
The online table for story points: everyone plays a card face down, the table flips at once — and the disagreement worth talking about is impossible to miss.
Creating a room is free. Two coins to start. One coin unlocks 12 hours.

What it is
Planning poker that feels like a real card table.
PlanningJoy is a web app for estimation sessions. Your team plays cards face down, reveals together, and records the agreed estimate — live, in the browser, with nothing to install. No spreadsheet energy, no ads, no analytics pixel.
The flow
How a round runs in PlanningJoy.
- 01
Open a table, invite the team
Create a room in seconds and share the link. Sign-in is passwordless — a link or a six-digit code, so corporate mailboxes get through reliably.
- 02
Set the story, play a card
The facilitator names what is being sized. Everyone plays a card face down. The table only sees who is finished — never which number.
- 03
Flip together
One click turns every card at once. You get the average, the most-played card and — most importantly — the spread. Optionally the table flips itself once the last player has voted.
- 04
Log the estimate
The agreed number is archived with the whole hand and your note. Then the table deals again. What you leave with is a log that explains how the number happened.
The product
Everything an honest estimate needs.
Nobody anchors anybody
Cards stay face down until the table flips together. The loudest voice in the room stops setting the number.
The spread, not just the average
An average hides the disagreement that matters. “3 to 13” is the sentence that starts the useful conversation.
The reasoning survives
Every logged estimate keeps the hand that produced it and the note about the assumption behind it.
Six decks
Fibonacci, modified Fibonacci, t-shirt sizes, linear, powers of two, and a risk scale for spikes.
One link is enough
Share a room, take a seat, done. A spectator mode for anyone joining to listen rather than estimate.
EU, private, no tracking
Data in Ireland (AWS eu-west-1). No ads, no Google Analytics, no profiling.
Why PlanningJoy
Calling numbers into a chat is not planning poker.
Whoever says a number first has decided the round — that is anchoring, not consensus. General whiteboards can do everything, so they rarely hide anything reliably. PlanningJoy exists only for estimation.
Numbers in chat
The first message sets the anchor. Everyone after it adjusts toward it without noticing.
General whiteboard
Powerful, and priced per seat. You rebuild hidden voting from scratch every time.
PlanningJoy
A table for estimating: play face down, reveal together, log it. You pay for sessions, not a licence per head.

Questions
Short answers.
- What is PlanningJoy?
- PlanningJoy is a web app for planning poker. Teams play estimate cards face down at a shared table, reveal together, and log the agreed estimate — in the browser, with nothing to install.
- What does online planning poker cost?
- New accounts receive two coins. One coin unlocks the room for twelve hours, with unlimited rounds and players. Extra coins are sold in packs via PayPal, for example 30 coins for €20.
- Can anyone see my card before the reveal?
- No. Until the reveal your card is technically readable only by you — the database enforces that with row level security, not the interface. The table only sees that you have played.
- Which decks are available?
- Fibonacci, modified Fibonacci with ½ and 100, t-shirt sizes, a linear 1–10 scale, powers of two, and a risk scale. You can also allow off-deck values.
- Where is the data stored?
- With Supabase in Ireland (AWS region eu-west-1), inside the EU. There are no ads and no third-party analytics tools.
They belong together
Estimate first, reflect after.
RetroJoy is the retrospective board from the same workshop: same sign-in, same coin model, same belief that a ceremony should be worth attending. Both products keep their own accounts and their own coin balances.
Next planning: in the browser.
Open PlanningJoy, create a room, and send the link to the team. Two coins are waiting on the first account.
